Scelta Mushrooms opens four new factories to match growing market demand
We are expanding our business with the construction of three new factories this year and a fourth one next year. With the increase in capacity we respond to the growing demand for processed mushrooms and vegetable appetizers.
In the beginning of this year, Scelta Products opened its second plant for the production of vegetable appetizers. Last weekend Champi’mer, our frozen mushroom factory, celebrated the opening of its new plant with a spectacular opening-weekend. With the new plant the production capacity has been doubled.
The third new factory is almost up and running. It will be the first to start producing dried mushrooms in The Netherlands, a product that is traditionally being produced in the Far East.
The location of the production facility, a joint-venture between Scelta and Worlée Naturprodukte, will enable it to benefit from the ample local supply of sustainably grown, safe and traceable mushrooms.
Scelta Essenza will move the production of Ecopouch® mushrooms to a new location and a brand new factory in the beginning of the next year. Scelta Essenza developed a unique procedure whereby mushrooms, after being packed, are boiled in their own juice. No additives – and salt are being used. The resulting mushrooms in Ecopouch® combine the best of fresh and preserved mushrooms.
With the construction of these new production plants we will have 8 state-of-the-art factories, all based in the Netherlands
